The Mid-Twentieth Century English Book-Jacket

A collection of book-jackets, including many original production department proofs, dating from between about 1935 and 1950, and featuring substantial groups from Faber & Faber (but mostly designers other than Berthold Wolpe), Gollancz and the Cresset Press. Together with a number of other printed ephemera, including retail catalogues, brochures and magazines (Austin Reed, Daks, United Dairies, Leica), exhibition catalogues, etc., as well as some literary and political material, illustrating a broad range of contemporary art for publicity. Including work by Robert Harling, Enid Marx, Graham Sutherland, Ashley Havinden, Osbert Lancaster, McKnight Kauffer, et al.

One large box file. Several items mounted on card. Some edge wear but in generally very good condition. £150
